Lawn care tips !

4/8/99
Now is a great time to get the lawnmower out and ready to cut some grass. Of course we recomend taking your machine to a professional for this, but most owner's manuals give you a good idea of what you need to do or have done. Here is a short list of the common things to do.

  1. Drain the gas from Tank and Carburetor Think SAFETY here!
  2. Add Fresh Fuel ( Do Not use Fuel over 60 days old!!)
  3. Replace the Spark plug ( With the same that you remove do not substitute!)
  4. Clean or Replace the Air Filter ( Hopefully you'll repalce it)
  5. Change the Oil (Very Important)
  6. Sharpen or Replace the Cutting Blade
  7. Check all fasteners replace or repair as needed.

Following this breif list will greatly improve the operation of the Lawnmower and probably add some years to it's life.

Always Remember SAFETY comes FIRST!

One of the most important things you can immediately do to have a healthy weed free lawn is to cut your grass high, like 21/2"-3" inches tall.

It won't happen over night but in about one season you should notice a major difference.

The idea here is that weeds grow faster than grass does provided they get enough sun to stimulate their growth. If your grass is cut at a height of say 2 1/2" the sun cannot warm up the ground enough to stimulate the weed seeds. So your grass grows faster than the weeds and will eventually choke them out instead of the other way around. That was easy wasn't it!
